Have a Harley Columbia vin # 5k 20271 c6. I believe it to be 1983-1989. Was given this cart. Whoever was the previous owner replaced the original fuel pump with an electric pump. When you step on the throttle gas comes out the carburetor throat. The carb is a Walbro LMS-230-1. So here is what I have done. Cleaned carb and put new carb kit in it. I checked float by submerging in water. No leaks. Manually held float in place and ran gas. No leaks when held in place. When I release float gas is allowed to flow. I also noticed the is a tub which I assume was the old vacuum tube for old fuel pump. Tried plugging that but no change. Any help here please.

It sounds like it has to much fuel pressure it only needs a max of 2 lbs.

Let us know if the new low pressure electric fuel pump solves the problem with the carburetor dumping over.

Just worked on one last week same issue. Cart wouldn't run so customer had installed a Edlebrock electric pump. Researched pump and found it was rated at 4-7 pounds. Way to much.
