I haven't done much wiring myself over the years so here's what I've seen...
Battery + to solenoid
Battery + to charging receptacle
Battery - to controller
Battery - to charging receptacle
Battery - to frame
Lights to switch... Switch to 12 volts... Lights to frame (ground).
If this is a potential issue, why has that worked on another cart? Is it a recipe for disaster? Is this just luck? What am I missing? Any enlightenment would be greatly appreciated.
Wicked.... further explanation please. I do not understand how a "chassis ground" is an "open" circuit.
If you run a wire from Batt - to chassis and check with ohmmeter, you will find a closed circuit I do believe.
let me try to explain what i mean y open circuit.... on a 36 volt electric cart you start with the + of the first batt in series and come out the - side end of the series into the controller..
controller - to the motor and otherside of motr to m- then +side to contactor to + of the first series batt.... a close circuit....
and one point you break that and gound to the chassis nows it open....
