Golf Cart Starts As Soon As I Shift Into Gear

I've got a '89 Club Car gas golf cart and I just replaced the carburetor and fuel pump. Had an aftermarket electric fuel pump and replaced with stock fuel pump. The golf cart runs ok but starts as soon as I shift the switch to forward or reverse gear without pressing the gas pedal. I just got this golf cart but I thought the gas pedal should start the engine. Any thoughts?

Solenoid or the micro switch for it. Either an adjustment for the microswitch or the soleniod stuck in the on position. Try tapping the soleniod see if issue goes away.
