Golf Cart Cart Beeping

I switch the golf cart from run to tow/maintenance to remove and cleaning some corrosion from two cables and put them back now when I switch it back to run the cart is beeping nonstop. If I press the gas it will stop beeping but once I let off the gas pedal it starts beeping again?

A 1996 EZGO with a run tow switch would be a DCS system. The smallest arc will blow the controller if the run tow switch is in run position when working on anything electrical.

I switched it to tow/maintenance before I disconnected anything. Then I reconnected everything back and switched it back to run after about 20 minutes or so it started beeping. I can drive it and it will stop but once I stop and park it starts beeping again.

Check the reverse micro switch on the forward and reverse switch and make sure the arm isn't bent and it's shutting all the way off.

Is the beep coming from the reverse buzzer? I've never seen or heard a continuous beep unless the micro switch was broke, bent or sticking. :dazed:

It’s a rapid beep not the continuous beep like when in reverse. If I push the gas pedal it will stop and the cart will work. Just as soon as I stop and turn the key off it will start beeping again. I have to flip the run/tow switch for it to stop. But other than that it works fine. It just never did that before I removed the cables.
