Have seen several post and such of converted 36v carts to 48v. does this just add to run time or to power as well? also wondering how to do it? Just put new batteries and controller in my cart and wondering if this is something I should consider? I have 05 txt pds 36v 500 amp alltrax used for hunting and fishing addiction.

You'll gain speed and torque, runtime will depend on what battery configuration you go with. With eight 6 volt batteries you should pick up a little runtime. You already have a controller to handle 48 volts so you'll need two more 6 volt batteries, and a means of charging the 48 volt pack. I'd recommend a HD 48 volt solenoid and 4 guage or bigger cables.
