In my opinion any of the big 3 (E-Z-GO, Club Car and Yamaha) gas carts are all good carts. EZGO's seem to have more accessories available. If you were looking at electric I would say EZGO but all 3 of the big 3 gas carts are reliable. It boils down to which style you like and the best deal you can get.
Ive had 2 Club Car DSs, 1 EZGO Marathon and 1 Yamaha G-2 plus I will be working on a Carryall 2 soon. For offroad I would rather have a Yamaha due to having the best suspension. Coilover shocks all the way around from the factory.
Im with slim67 on the Yamahas but I like them for the power they have with the stock engines. To me the gas Yamaha carts seem to run like a bat out of hell compared to gas club car and ezgo stock with governor tweaks only.
as far as the lift I am going to go with the jakes but not sure which one to get the spindle, A-arm, or the long travel. When I put on the lift with the bigger tires is there something I will need to do to the motor or is it ok like it is.
Finally getting a chance to get started with the lift project. I got it pulled down to the frame and a fresh coat of paint on the frame today. Hopefully I can get it put back together this weekend and will put on some more pics.
