to me it comes down to the oil you use, five guys will have five different ratios. Yamalube is some of the best all around 2 cycle oil, 40:1 is what i've mixed for yrs
Nubs is correct when he says the brand of oil will make a difference. Five gallons of gas and 16 oz. of oil, shaken not stirred, will give you a very nice 40 to 1 cocktail for your engine. I've had good luck with 2-cycle outboard motor oil
