I have a g9 that smokes real bad I turn it by hand and the compression feels good but don't have a gauge where can I find a rebuilt motor at the best price?

what does a rebuild generally run? Would it be just the valve guides since it feels like it has good compression? It has a lot of blowby though.

Have you done a compression test? Where are you located?

I have not done a compression test yet. It is amazing how this things keeps running and runs pretty good for as much as it smokes. That is why I thought it might just be the valve guides. I live in s. Oklahoma

How much oil is in the engine! Lots of folks put more than a quart, and it will smoke bad.

I made sure that it only had one quart. Do you guys know where to buy a rebuilt motor or is it better to rebuild mine. I seen on LVS website exchange for around $ 600 have any of you had experience with their motors?

I have had quite a few Yam's that the fuel pump went bad and sucked gas into the crankcase and caused the motor to smoke terrible. Once I fixed that problem I have had to burn out the muffler with a torch.

The oil is going somewhere I don't think it is getting fuel in the crank case.
