G2 Yamaha 36 Volt Golf Cart Takes Off Wide Open

Solenoid is working batteries are goodon my G2 Yamaha golf cart. The golf cart will not move in slow speed but it takes off wide open when the pedal is depressed. The movable contact was burnt I cleaned and leveled it shimed and adjusted for contact against the stationary contacts for good connection but this didn't work. Ant ideas? Thanks
 
Well I ended up finding the problem on my own (got lucky). The resistor was burnt in two at the motor connection under the resistor bank. I cut off the burnt end reformed loop for the motor lead stud hooked it all back up I'm on the road again.
