fwd 4 cyl car engine and automatic transmission

I want to see somebody put the drivetrain of a fwd car into the rear of an accurately scaled golf cart size chassis. The chassis can be custom fabricated but must have a golf cart body and dash, full roll cage and probably would look better as a stretched 4 seater EZGO. That would be cool. The front and rear suspension would be fully independent. The stock automatic transmission out of the car would be used. More than likely it could be registered and driven on the road anywhere with the VIN # off the engine. This may give a whole new meaning to the words golf cart. Front brakes are not optional.

Ace, After seeing the work you did on the car conversion I think your the man for the FWD golf cart conversion. :)

ha ha. On Junkyard Wars few years ago they had a competition to build formula 1 cars and one team put a fwd engine into the back of a frame. They had problems shifting because it was a manual transmission.
I'm sure there would be enough room in the golf cart body to fit the grease rag that came out of my honda.

I'm going to look at this 1999 Pontiac Grand Am GT on Wednesday to possibly consider using the drivetrain out of it for the baja golf cart project. Its a pretty good deal and low miles as long as it runs good like they say.

This would be an awesome off roader. I'm planning a 4 forward seater chassis that I would need to fabricate around the engine. The body and dash would resemble a limo EZGO. I'm not a big fan of how some rail vehicles look so I want this to look along the lines of a modified golf cart with a body. The engine probably won't fit under the rear body so the rear may have a truggy look with some body panels. Of course it will need many many safety features. I'm thinking a moderately high but wide stance with 30x10.5 tires.

I'm excited and can't wait to start!!

The VIN is determined by the CHASSIS, not the engine. But, good luck anyway!

I can't wait to see what you come up with!
