Free Yahoo Email Account Hacked

My yahoo email account was hacked and was sending a email with a link to a advertisement to email addresses that were in my address book. I haven't been using the yahoo address much lately so I'm not sure how long this has been going on. Just a warning to anyone using a free yahoo email account to be on alert for email being sent with no subject and nothing but a link in the email.

Also be careful with any emails you get from a yahoo address that has no subject and only a link in the email.

The link is HARMLESS.

Actually its not a virus and doesn't do any harm. It's a advertisement. Sorry about that Frank.

I had the same problem with my free yahoo account so I switched to a free gmail account. These spammers can really be annoying and will do almost anything to promote their garbage.

No problem, my virus software didn't catch anything and I ran a full scan and didn't find anything.. But it wasn't an ad, just a page with some random numbers displayed.

When I checked it was a ad for a canadian drug company.

I'm glad it didn't cause you or anyone else any problems.
