Foam inside Rear Body

I'm currently going through my cart and cleaning everything. Has anyone ever removed all of the foam under the rear body? What abouth the foam under the engine? I assume it is there for noise, would I notice a big difference if it was all removed and not replaced?
Thanks, Wayne

I've seen guys remove it. I'm not sure how much difference you'll notice without it. I think it helps with the heat transfer from the engine also.

My Tonka cart didn't even have the foam when I got it , I didn't even know that some had the foam until a guy gave me a couple of extra bodies and those had the foam, I have a 16hp v-twin in my Tonka and I have no problems with it .

Hey thanks guys. I think I may just take it out. Looks to be just a dirt and water trap to me. Was this just a club car thing or do the other manufacturers use the foam as well?

Finished cleaning everything. Decided to just leave the foam in. Once I beat all the dust out and wiped it down it didn't look to bad. I'm thinking it would be nice to order a new drive belt, starter belt and power spring and install these before I put the body back on. Getting short on time before camping season starts April 15. Gotta install my heavy duty rear springs and rear seat kit yet as well.

I donk't know if it is a differance in carts or not. my 98 has it with a 6 inch lift and is WAY quieter than my 94 that has no foam but is not lifted.

I am not sure if the lift has anything to do with it or not. I do know my seat stays cooler on the lifted/insulated cart as well.
