I fish quite a bit at the cottage. I have a 16ft Tracker with a 50hp Merc. that I use at several local lakes a 16ft pontoon with a 120lb thrust electric and a 16 ft jon boat I use at the cottage... I'm looking forward to spring so I can get at it again....
i need some advice with my new boat... gpsed at 59 mph yesterday but i still had trim left... as i started up on the trim the thrust came on real strond but the front of the boat kinda felt wobbly... i feel it can reach 10 more mph but im scared cause it felt real unstable.... is there a way to correct this or do i just have to keep it at around 55.... brings a song to mind
I'd keep it at 55 or where ever you feel safe. It sounds like what your describing is called porposing. I've seen those trim tabs you can mount on the motor or the transom but I've never tried them before.
although the engine already has been supposedly bored and i just had jets put in...also someone at a johnson site suggested that i may have side to side play in the engine to steering...causing the boat nose to sway under high speed
