Hey Ubercart my clutches are all wack when the engine is bolted using the 4 precut mounting holes on the motor mount. Did you have to drill new holes to mount the engine so the clutches arent all wacked? How did you determine if the clutches are lined up or not and how much slack should the belt have when the motors all done and bolted? Thanks man!

That belt came today so maybe I will finally get to take the workhorse for a test drive tonight.

I just want to make sure that the belt doesnt jump of the clutch or do other funky stuff.

Oh I did get a chance to line the engine up to where I think it should be but the 2 rear mounting holes on the engine barely fit on the plate. Not sure whats going on. I know this is for the bigger engines but still are the engine blocks really that much different????

put the belt on and get your clutches 13 inches apart from bolt to bolt. Then you just have to eyeball it to line it up. Thats what I did. It may take awhile. If its not lined up you will throw the belt like crazy. 13 inces is the perfect distance. Perfect slack there!

Ah crap I forgot about the 13" deal when I was drilling holes so now the belt is probably tighter than it should be. You didnt use those precut slots right? I got to take the workhorse for a test drive last night but the clutches would move in and out to change the gearing so at full throttle I was going about as fast as a lawnmower. Is this because the belt is to tight?

I have no idea somehow it slipped my mind when I was measuring.

But my clutches are only 13.5" apart. Doesnt seem like that should make much difference. The clutches wont engage at all when I drive it. Top speed is probably 4 mph.

Ok I got the clutches to 13" but they are still not engaging. Are you sure this belt is not to wide? Its significantly wider than the stock belt. Did you have to let yours wear in before the clutches would engage?

Center of clutch bolt to center of clutch bolt is 13 incehs and that is that same belt I use with stocfkl clutches. You are doing something wrong!!!

I put mine on. Oil driven clutch and took off at about 25 mph first run! Stock clutches all around. Just had the drive clutch machined to fit the new enbine!

Somehow my clutches are still a little over 13" but not much. The belt seems like it has plenty of slack though for the clutches to engage some. Guess I will pull the engine again today and drill the holes back more but Im running out of room on that plate. Last I checked theres only 1/4" left on the plate before the mounting holes run off.

The engine revs fine and everything sounds and looks good but the clutches wont move in or out.
Whats that about oiling the clutches?

Just the shafts were the clutches move and manually worked them in and out. My process took a lil while and the clutches were stuck when we got it all together!

What's up dude? Why you sellin? You have to understand that the570cc has alot more potential than the 600cc for some reason. You can get 60 hp out of what you got and can get 45 hp out of what you want.

Oh man can you really get 60hp out of my engine? Where could I get performance upgrades for it?

Ubercart, do you think that may be why my clutches wont engage?

Yes it is its from Comet. It wont slide in either by hand. Maybe a defect in the clutch? The instructions that came with it said to just bolt it to the shaft and go.
