EZGO Valves Won't Stay Adjusted

i have a 95 ezgo gas 4 cycle with a 295 robins. the problem i have is the adjustment nuts on the top of the valves keep coming loose. is there any way to resolve this.

if you are snuggin' the nuts up and there still backing off i would say that the threads in the rocker arms are bad or the adjusters are backed out so far that there are not enough threads left for the adjuster to stay tight. do they all come loose? or just the center two.

all of them are. but the nuts are still tight but the valves are out. if that makes since.

so your saying that the valves won't stay adjusted?

yes that is what i am trying to say. Could the valves possibly need to be reseated?

what has happened is the temper/hardening has come out of the valves, very common for this engine. running the governor up adds to this problem, replacing the valves or installing a rebuilt head is the only repair.
the valves will sink up into the head if they get bad enough.
