I have a 1998 EZGO TXT electric golf cart and just put new batteries in it. It runs good for a while then when you try going up a hill it stops acts like its dead. If I let it sit for a few minutes then it will do fine. If I try to climb a hill it will do the same thing again. I need some help.

Make sure that you are getting a full charge on the batteries and also check the volts on each battery. It will only take one battery that is weak to contribute to your problem.

Like ftfixer said check batteries with a digital meter and post your results. Double check that the batteries are all wired correctly. Is this a DCS cart (run/tow switch)? It could be the controller going into thermal shutdown causing your problem also.

Clip the multimeter leads to the main pack terminals and let's see what kind of voltage drop occurs when you try and climb this hill. Do this to each battery as well. Post the results.

When you sat "acts like its dead" Do you mean it quits moving and does nothing? Or it slows down but keeps moving? If the batteries are good I'd say you have a bad controller. I'd test the batteries like ftfixer and gorno mentioned to be sure before you run out and buy a new controller.
