EZGO Steering Problem

I'm having a problem with the steering on my 1999 EZGO electric golf cart. How do I remove the front panel to get at the steering box?

I was recently given a 1999 EZGO by a friend. It has squirrelly steering...about a quarter turn of "slack" in it. What's the best way to restore it?

The front shock cover can be removed without removing the body. The steering set can then easily be seen and removed. The whole assembly can be rebuilt but, for my two cents, it's easier to buy a new steering box.

Almost any golf cart parts seller can provide you with any and/or all the parts you need for your steering.

Easy enough fix :). I'm not sure of the torque specs but the manuals in the stickys might have something.

Thanks to your previous post I found that my steering box was also broken at the third mounting bolt. I've ordered and received a new one from Golf Cart King and will be installing it next week. Thanks for the insight and the info on buying a new one pbsdaddy. I suppose that it comes pre-greased; can you confirm?

I would also assume that but I can not confirm it. I have not had the pleasue, (sic), of buying that particular item yet. One of very few I haven't.
