EZGO Rear End Problem Golf Cart Runs But Doesn't Move

1983 EZGO gas 2-stroke golf cart. Somethings broke between my clutch/drive unit/govenor and the rear end. The motor runs which turns the belt which turns the clutch/drive unit/govenor or whatever you call it but the cart doesn't move. Someone told me there might be a rubber coupling between the drive unit and the rear end but as of yet I haven't been able to come up with a manual or any drawings to verify this. I haven't torn into it yet because I'm lazy and would like to see a drawing prior to jumping in. Any ideas????

You can't really see whether its turning. I changed the rear end oil on it last year and everything looked great and I mean great. You could still see some paint on the ring and pinion where someone had checked for gear lash and there was not trash or ferry dust in the chunck. I guess I should just tear into it now that the weather is beginning to improve. I sure would like to se a drawing first---oh well!!
