EZGO NO GO

I have a '97 EZGO TXT, F/R switch below right knee, running on 3-12V batt. New solenoid, new pedal micro switch, no solenoid click with key or pedal, or cart movement in forward or reverse. Charger will cycle normally to full charge, but 36.1 Volts battery voltage when I tested. Using diagnostics for speed controller testing, key on in forward, 36.1 volts @ at battery side of solenoid. 35.4 volts at controller side of solenoid. Wires that I have tested for continuity seem ok. Any help is appreciated.

Sounds good so far except battery voltage is low (less than 50% charged) but not bad enough to have a dead cart.
Full charge should be 38.2v or better.
Do you have a reverse beeper when the key is on and in reverse?
Check the reed switch in the charger receptacle.
Check the fuse.
Check the ignition switch.
Check the micro switches on the F-N-R switch.

Will put back on charger for future tests. Have reverse beeper, key on or off when in reverse. Do not find reed switch on cart in charge receptacle, only black and white wires. Do not know where to find fuse (none in charge receptacle). Ignition switch appears ok. Forward micro switch never shows continuity, but reverse micro switch does when activated. If forward micro is bad, could you still have reverse?

If you have a beep from reverse, your reed switch and fuse should be ok.
Check the solenoid.
You can also jack the rear of the cart up and using a 6ga wire (or pliers) short the 2 large terminals. If the wheels turn it's the probably the solenoid.

What kind of batteries are you using? Are they deep cycle or automotive? It sounds like you do not have enough amperage to run the system. It's not all about voltage. I don't think you have enough battery capacity.

With a new solenoid already on, decided to replace the forward micro on the F-N-R switch since it showed no continuity when tested. Runs as good as ever, and a cheap fix too! Thanks for pointing me to that area of the cart. Would not have considered loss of forward and reverse with only one switch out. I was afraid it was a bigger issue (controller!) Great forum! Great discussions. Thanks for the help...
