EZGO Marathon Resr End Grinding Noise

Hello again everyone, I have an 89 EZGO Marathon, that has a noise like the rear end is grinding coffee. History of noise is as follows: drove great for about an hour, was parked in front of a store for about 30 minutes on level ground with brake set. drove cart approx 50 feet and started making grinding noise. took off bottom diff pan, found it was low on fluid, but it did have some (enough to wet at least lower gear) inspected gears as best I could everything looked in good condition. reinstalled lower pan, filled with new fluid, noise is better but still a lot of "grinding" noise(to me it sounds like stripped gears). next took off hubs and looked at the axels and hub splines. looks worn but seem to have full engagement. noise seems to be coming from diff housing. any ideas. also does anyone now of any diagrams that are avail on line for this? thanks again for all the help. Hope everyone is having a good weekend

just a little more update on the cart. I took both rear axels out and rotated the diff. still has the noise. not nearly as much but still has grinding noise

You must have a bad bearing in the motor or the rear end. Pull the motor and see if you can still here the noise.

well I took the motor out and found the input shaft and the splinbe connector on the motor completely worn. I would imagine the input shaft on the diff can be replaced fairly easily. I don't see any reasonable way of changing the connector on the motor. could someone give me ideas of my options to fix this? here are some pictures of what I found to clarify things
