EZGO Marathon Golf Cart Take Off Without Pressing Throttle

I purchased a 1992 EZGO Marathon golf cart. I have charged the batteries and cleaned connections. The problem I have now is that when i turn the key switch on the golf cart takes off without pressing the throttle pedal, also does it in reverse. It is a controller golf cart solid state. Where do I need to start to try to fix the problem? Thanks in advance.

It could be a couple things causing it. Does it take off at full speed? It could be wired wrong, bad pot box, stuck solenoid, bad micro switch, etc..

It takes off wide open then slows back down then you can use the throttle pedal for speed. It's like the batteries are trying to die after a few minutes. I removed the mirco switch above the pot box, it seems like its not closing all the way when screwed in. Also I removed orange wire from solenoid and put in forward and nothing happened. I removed the wire from solenoid and tested before removing the mirco switch. Where do i need to go from here?

Test the pot box by taking the two small wires off the controller on pin 2 and 3 and with a ohm meter you should see 0 ohms then slowly press the throttle pedal and the meter should smoothly go to 5000-5500 ohms max at full throttle.

The pot box is fine it reads 0 at rest and 5500 ohms at full throttle. Is there a way to bypass solenoid or should I just replace solenoid and mirco switch? Thanks in advance.

I picked up a solenoid at local golf cart shop. The solenoid i picked up has post on side instead of top. Could someone help me with the wiring to get it wired back up.

Just keep the wires together on the same posts as they are now and if there's a diode aim it at the same wires.
