EZGO Golf Cart Backfires

The throttle cable probably needs to be adjusted.
This is possible. Make sure the butterfly is fully closing when you let up on the gas pedal. Also make sure when you start to press the pedal there is a slight delay before the butterfly starts to open. When you barley press the pedal the butterfly should remain closed.

I'm having the same issue with my '98 workhorse 1200. My driveway slopes down toward our garage, and when i pull onto the driveway from the street and back off on the pedal, it backfires every time. Sometimes just little pops, but occasionally a shotgun blast.
