EZGO gas golf cart will not do anything but click

someone help, I have a ez-go gas golf cart and it will not start. I have a good battery, when I press the gas it will just click. Sometimes the belt pulley will spin very slow for about 1 sec. The clicking is coming from a little box that is mounted beside the solnoide.

sounds like you may need to have the starter/generator checked out. remove the belt from the starter pulley to see if it will spin. let us know what happens and we can go from there.

That is kinda what I was thinking. I am not sure but I think that it has a 12 volt battery, is that right? I checked it with my tester and it said good but it does not say anywhere on the battery what volt it is. It I was to get a new one is it a standard car battery?

yes it is a 12 volt battery i would take it to the auto parts and let them check it out before i bought a new one don't want to buy a new one if you don't need it
