EZGO Gas Golf Cart Battery

I have a 1993 EZGO gas golf cart. I put in a 12 volt Lawn and Garden battery. Is this sufficient for this unit. The reason I ask is that it will run good for about an hour then it will die out. If I charge the battery it will run again, but then die out. Someone told me that the battery was not big enough but I am starting to think it is the generator. Any advice or help would be greatly appreciated.

It sounds like the cart isn't charging. It could be the starter generator, voltage regulator or a loose/broken wire somewhere. Jack the rear of the cart up and put it on jack stands. Put a digital volt meter on the battery and start the cart. Push the gas pedal about half throttle and see if the voltage goes up and the battery. Post your results.

Ended up replacing the voltage regulator and starter/generator. Running great now.

Just got my hands on a 91' 2 stroke. Does anyone know the oil ratio?

Thanks....on the 91, it really struggles going up hills even small ones. On a level surface it rides great. It has big promlems accelerating in the smallest of inclines. Any advice?
