all right guys, I'm not real famillar with DCS and PDS ezgos. I have a DCS, and was wondering what kind of speed/torque up grades can you do to it? I have everything but a motor to convert it to series, but really don't want to if I don't have to.
The DCS cart was Ezgos first attempt at sepex motor carts and was pretty hard on controllers.
There are no cheap speed enhancers like the chip for the PDS.
What are your end result plans for the cart? Street? Hunting? Speed? Torque? Lift?
I guess my main question is, is there higher speed and torque motors and/or controllers for these. I know there are for the PDS, but not sure about the DCS. Yes I'm gonna lift it, and would like a little more of both.
OP... Casper is a dcs cart. I changed out the motor to a purple motor. Still running the Curtis controller. It'll run @20 mph...Which is really too fast for Ocean Lakes. Buggies unlimited offers package deals on motor/ controller combos. Alltrax offers the DCX controller for dcs carts up to 700 amps.
EMP builds a nice DCS motor to. A higher amp controller will give you a speed increase with the stock or aftermarket motor on a DCS cart. There's a lot of options for you.
A 400a to 500a controller and some 4ga or 2ga cables should get you going.
If you need more after that I would look at motor upgrades from EMP or D&D.
And then if you really want to kick it in the pants upgrade the above with a 48v conversion.
One step at a time and stop when you're satisfied with the results.
