EZGO Cam Timing

I put the cam timing at tdc on a EZGO and get the most compression at about 160 psi but it won't rev above half. I move the cam counterclockwise about 4 teeth and loose 15 psi but it runs great. What's the deal?

With the cart in neutral it won't get the belt more than half way up the drive clutch. After the adjustment it has no problem getting the belt to the top in a hurry.

if it was me, i would set the timing back, it sounds like its starving for fuel. if you run it with timing off that far you'll just keep pushin' raw fuel passed the valve stems and the fuel will end up in the oil. carb, fuel pump, collapsed line, something is making it lean :twocents:

Thanks nubs, your :twocents: is worth a fortune to me! I think it's time to get it to a service department. Thanks again.

theres your answer buy a new carb and your good to go, the knock off carbs on ebay etc are not always the best.
