EZGO 2013 RXV Lithium Install

I have converted to a LiTime 48V 60Ah LithiumFePO4 battery and it is running real good. I no longer use the standard charging port. The connection had 2 wires attached to the old battery bank...one positive (red) and one negative (black). Then there is a middle wire I don.t know where it goes. I have attached the old leads + and - to the new lithium battery configuration. Does anyone know if it would be safe to remove the old + and - wires without causing a problem? And does anyone know what the middle wire does/did? And if that wire could be cut?

Thanks Pat11. That middle wire is still connected to wherever it goes. it goes into a wire plastic channel with the + and - wires from the old charging port receptacle headed for the battery area, but then seems to go elsewhere.

OK, so you want to disable the charging port by disconnecting the main positive and negative charging wires? If so, you will need to connect that third wire to battery positive, I believe to prevent the cart shutting down. It may be negative but I think it’s positive on your cart. You can check it with a multimeter if you have one. Just check to see what voltage you have on that cable and connect it to the appropriate battery terminal. If it’s 48v, then connect to positive, if it’s 0v, connect to negative.

I found that removing the old charging receptacle + and - wires prevented the cart from starting. So I put them back on : the positive (red) to the battery's positive post, and the negative (black) to the shunt's P- post. The cart then got juice and worked fine.

Problem solved. Thanks Pat911
