ez go wont go

Hi I have an ez go electic cart 2004 36v. It acts like the hubs are stripped but I can hold either axel nut with my fingers and can stop them from spinning. The splines look good and both hubs look good. Any idea about what else might could be the problem? Tanks

Can you stop both at axles at once. Seeing how you said you can stop them with your fingers I'm guessing you'll be able to stop both at the same time. More than likely it's the splined coupler on the motor shaft. You'll have to pull the motor to check it and the splines on the input shaft.

Thanks for the info. Should I bother dropping the bottom housing where the axles meet or just start with pulling the motor?

You could pull the cover just to be sure the spider gears are broken but chances are it's the coupler...
