Equalizing Charge

I don't have a cart yet - been digging thru the forums (found 3 so far) for info to help me decide what to get for my first "project". Just joined this forum today.

I've read a lot of topics about batteries on the forums but haven't seen any reference to Equalizing Battery Charges. Equalizing refreshed and extended the life of my marine deep cycles for years - even brought a few back from death. Checked the Trojan website and even they recommend it, especially before using new batteries.

Am I missing something or don't carters do equalizers?

thanks

Most cart chargers finish the charge cycle with an equalizing charge that runs for a few hours that will usually take the cells up to 2.5v to 2.6v.

Thanks for the reply. I've read your responses about Westerns with interest because there is a used one for sale in the neighborhood. Haven't looked at it yet because I'm still researching the different makes and models.

Point me to the Western for sale and I'll give you as much info as I can on it. Post the link or a description or photos.
