Electric EZ GO won't move

I have a electric ezgo cart I'm looking at for a guy.. There is all new batteries and cables on it.
It has a manufacture code of 11796

When I move the switch from mantaince to run and push the pedal it will move about three inches and then stop, then it doesn't do anything until I move the switch to mantainance and back to run again.
any ideas.

It sounds like a controller problem. There's a EZGO DCS troubleshooting chart in the EZGO Resource forum here. Go through the steps and it should help figure out what the problem is...

Well I finally had time to check the cart out and do the testing according to the troubleshooting chart:

Test 1 I had 34.8 volts at the B+ on the controller box (37.6 volt and the charger socket)
Test 2 I had 34.9 at the #10 on the controller in the tow position and 37.6 at the run postion
Test 3 I had .4 at the #9 terminal on the controller in the tow postion and 37.5 in the run postion
Test 4 I had 36.7 at the #5 terminal on the controller and "no click "
Test 5 I had no voltage at the terminal #7
Test 6 I had 14.1 volts

I can't say for sure I did all the tests correctly (Having all the switches in the correct postions)

I'm still stumped!! Is it the conntroller?? How expensive are they?

it may be bad connection at the maint. switch, or, switch is bad, sounds like your haveing the most trouble going through the switch
definitely check all wire connections

Double check the battery wiring and make sure none are wired backward. What is your total voltage at the carts charger receptacle
