E-Z-GO Golf Cart Engine Rebuild Cost

I know this will get a WIDE answer. But, what are you roughly looking cost wise on a E-Z-GO 295 golf cart engine rebuild? I'm kind of looking for both answers : doing it yourself (parts) and if you just dropped it off to a average shop Thanks

to do it yourself with good parts will run you around 375.00 if it does not need boring, add 100.00 if it does. new MCI engines are 900.00 or more plus 200.00 for the adapter kit. letting a repair shop do it that does not do that engine all the time could be higher.
there's rebuilds on ebay but many are not true rebuilds, we send rebuilds out of here for 775.00 with a new carb ready to bolt in. here are the parts that you would need to do it yourself, you can do it with less parts and money, it all comes down to what you want when your done

what about adding more power on the rebuild? what are people doing , ive read that they are 9 hp stock and some are getting 15?
