Hi, I'm new. I just bought a 1977 2 stroke E-Z-GO gas golf cart. I'm not sure on the model or engine but my problem is that it's not charging the battery. The battery is new and I tested it while the cart was running (I jump started it with my truck) and the battery just slowly drains. I'm somewhat mechanically inclined so if someone could give me a general idea as to what I'm supposed to do I'm sure I could fix it, I've just never worked on little motors like these before. It would also be dynamite if someone could point me towards a wiring diagram too because I know the guy who had this cart before me messed around with the wiring and hopefully that's the problem because I'd rather not have to tear the engine out to fix it, if at all possible. On a different note, is there anything I could do to squeeze a little extra performance out of it? I was thinking the intake because the stock one looks way too restrictive, but what about a newer exhaust with an expansion chamber like a dirt bike? It's always been my understanding that 2-strokes thrive on back pressure, so would something like that help? Thanks for your help!
