very simple you should be able to just work the old belt off no tools required, and than put the new one on..................should be done in a few minutes.......................................
Make sure the cart is in neutral. Start at the back on the driven clutch, work it off to one side and roll it off. To put it on, put the belt on the front clutch and start rolling it on to the back clutch. It is SUPER TIGHT but it does roll on.
Thanks, I will try it next week when belt gets delivered. I should notice a difference in performance right? The current belt is pretty bad and squeals like crazy.
It could be, but it's more-than-likely just some grease or oil on the belt. If it's a 1997 and you aren't sure of its last tune up, you are probably going to want to do a whole tune up with a drive belt. You should notice an up in performance.
Oh she has been tuned up and all fluids changed.
Been turning wrenches on cars/boats/stuff for ever.
It was a kick only having to add just a little over a quart to the engine.
'm used to 6 quarts in my truck !
I did look yesterday and the belt is looking a little ragged.
Guess it's time.
