Damn HP Quick Play

My HP laptop has always been slow to load and some times, at start up, Quick play would fill the screen. But at start up I would get that little busy circle when I tried to, say, come to Cartaholics. I would go to task manager and it did not show any program running. After, what ever it was, loaded, I could get on with my surfing. Well, today I fixed that. That Quick Play started up when I booted and I figured; "You sombitch." I went to my Control Panel and then to the icon; "Programs and Features." And there it was, a Quick Time Play icon and right next to it an icon for button start of same. I uninstalled that button start and my machine loads a lot faster. I think that Quick Play thing was running in the back ground every time I booted my machine.

Go to the start menu and remove it and anything else you don't want running from the start up sequence. What OS are you running XP, Vista, Win7?

Vista. I have taken many items off the start menu. The problem I have with it is that so many of the things are cryptic to me. There are a bunch of HP things there, but without knowing what they do, I leave them alone.
