Curious behavior on a new cart

I'm looking to close a deal on a brand new Advanced EV. When I first tried it out, it did not start running until the 5th pedal-pump. I was told by the salesperson that it is normal for a golf cart that's been sitting for a couple of days. So, I waited a couple of days and tried again. While it did not require 5 pumps, it did take about a second after I pressed the pedal for it to engage. I tried again right afterwards and there was no delay.
I am new to golf carts. And this is a lot of money for me. Is this normal golf cart behavior? I appreciate any help.

Is this electric or gas electric would do this because the controller will go to sleep after so many hours should take one pedal press and then wait 15 seconds to 30 seconds and then it should go
