Cruise Car Issue After Getting Wet

Good afternoon everyone,
Having trouble with our Cruise Car, this issue started when it was driven in a heavy heavy down pour. When you turn the key on the starter try's to start the engine without pressing the accelerator. If you step on the accelerator it will finish starting the engine and you can drive it for a while till the battery goes dead in it. The generator charges at 15v when the throttle is pressed to full and maintains 13.7 volts when the throttle is about 1/2. even after the engine is warm it still wont stop trying to start the engine. This cart never tried to start the engine before by just turning on the key. I did check the voltage regulator and it seems ok. The serial number is 10622. I believe this to be a 2010 cart gas powered. Any ideas?

Throttle pedal micro switch, froze in the closed position? It could have gotten a lot of moisture when you drove it in the downpour

Thank you for the quick reply. The micro switch on the side of the gas pedal has a part number 34-1173 any idea where i might be able to get it?

You might be able to find one from one of the sponsors or if you can’t you could Google that and I’m sure it would show up numerous places. Those micro switches are fairly universal. You didn’t say what make or model of your golf cart
