Hello Everyone. I have a 48 volt Club Car golf cart and the Battery Cables keep getting corrosion on them and I can't figure out why. I clean them off and polish the copper ends till there bright copper, but in a short while here comes the green powder corrosion.
The one terrminal had this stuff that I swear looked just like lime sherbert oozing from under the terminal.
Any help would be most appreciated

You need a corrosion protection spray that prevents the air getting to the terminals after you clean them. It's available at any auto supply.
Small hint after you get this stuff: Apply electrical insulating tape to the bottom of the can so you don't short it out on the terminals while your spraying.

Thanks for the reply. I will definatley try that. Do you think zinc coated nuts on terminals would do any good?

Replace all the mounting hardware with stainless steel. Clean the cable ends like you did before. This time before assembly, coat every exposed metal surface with dielectric grease from the cable end to the battery post. AutoZone sells cans and little packets of this for $1.25.

It'll look like new for a long time. Unless you over filled the batteries. Then all bets are off.
