I have a Curtis 1204 controller and contactors used on a 36 volt PM motor setup.
I would like to convert my old resistor PARGO 36 volt golf cart to use the electronic controller.
Currently the PARGO motor is wired
Forward - S1 to Bat+, connects S2 to A2, A1 to Bat-.
Reverse - S1 to Bat+, connects S2 to A1, A2 to Bat-
Can I use the controller wired as above except Bat- would be M- on the controller? (The controller doesnot have an A2 terminal since it was used on a PM motor.)
Would I need a protection diode across the controller since there is no plug diode in this controller?
Thanks.
