Columbia Par car-Troubleshooting

Hey all first time poster here-really love the site all of these nice shiny carts make me want a new one. But any way I'm working on a custom cart that is based on a Columbia Cart (vin#sp551936229-which is located on a cross member which the solenoids mount to) The cart seems to function normally in forward but has no reverse-the reverse buzzer works the same solenoid clicks in either direction, but no movement not even on jack stands. I'm thinking controller-(curtis 1204-001,36 volts)but really want to find out how to test voltage at the motor to make sure that is the issue And not the solenoid or motor. Not a big fan of being a "parts changer" and I would like to buy a manual for this cart so I can diagnose the problem. Any questions or advice would be greatly appreciated-most of my experience is with gas powered vehicles, electric carts are new to me as far as diagnostics go.

Ps will post pictures as soon as possible-I do have a nice lifted G-9 gas that I built last winter.
Thanks Again,Neil

With my no reverse situation-I know they use a separate solenoid for forward and reverse are they the same solenoids??
What I am wondering is if I swap the 2 of them then get reverse but no forward-I guess I can then assume it was just a bad solenoid Any ideas???

I think they are the same solenoids for forward and reverse so your idea should work. You could always jump the large posts on the solenoid and see if it works.

Hey hot rod-
If you mean taking a screwdriver and crossing the top 2 terminals on the solenoid I have done that-Thats what made me suspect the controller. I found a new curtis controller for 175(cheap!) I might go ahead with that if there are no other possibilities.pls. let me know what you think. thanks Neil
