I have an 85 Columbia gas golf cart when I got it the engine didn't run. I got the engine running but it has no power up hills and is very slow to take off. It has 110psi compression and I have installed new carburetor, secondary clutch, new drive belt, new muffler and fuel pump but the fuel pump is from a bunton deck mower would that make a difference? The other thing I noticed is that between the rear end and the frame someone put spacers betweeen them about 2 inches worth would that affest anything?

Sorry about that I re-read your post and see you mentioned the new muffler.

If the spacers increased the distance between the clutches that could be your problem. You should be able to tell by jacking the rear tires off the ground and running the cart to see if the belt is riding in the clutches like it should...

thanks for the info would engine run better with an expansion pipe from a snowmoblie better that a muffler instead i think the muffler restricts the exhaust too much
