Hi everybody! I recently bought a 1986 Club Car DS 36v. It runs but it's slow. I'd like to convert it to 48v as I already have a 48v charger. Problem is it's an EZ-GO Delta-Q SC-48 charger. I happen to have a spare receptacle and charger controller that I'm thinking about installing on my cart.

1. Can I install the 48v Delta-Q receptacle onto my cart and make it work? There is no OBC on my cart to worry about.
2. I plan on replacing the F&R switch. Should I use a Club Car switch or can I use an EZ-GO switch?
3. In time I will upgrade the speed control and motor (right now I have the solenoid and coil setup). Other than batteries, is there anything else I should upgrade now that will allow me to use the cart while I upgrade things?

Thanks in advance for any and all help!

I went to a local shop yesterday, they think it'll work. I'm upgrading the other components with a navitas 600a AC kit.

Changing the plug would probably be easier but I already have the receptacle.

Update: 48v conversion done. Navitas upgrades installed. Ended up mounting the charger under the back seat, hard wired the charger, and swapped the charger port for a standard 3-prong so I can charge with any extension cord. Thanks to all for advice and help! Oh, and since I like Ryobi tools I decided to make it match my lawnmower.

First pic is finished product. Others taken before I added the pinstripe and the light kit.
