Club Car V-Twin Engine Conversion

Ace, you just passed up the best deal you will ever see for a big block and clutch set-up. Make a mental note of this.
Since I will be keeping this one, I plan on finding the breaking point of an 18 hp Vanguard. All the way from roller rockers to billet push-rods. The main ingredient will be how much to take off the heads. Shaveing the heads seams to be the only un-known right now so the only thing I know to do is take a little the check results and take a little more. Hopefully I will be posting some positive results in a few weeks.

I don't mind. More fun for you. I cant/wont spend that kind of money on a used engine that will have the same top speed as stock just with a ton more torque.. Is it worth it? Yeah but I would rather buy a snowmobile engine and pay a welder to make a motor mount/swing arm for it.
If I dont decide on going that route

I wouldnt shave the heads one that. There isnt a lot of valve clearance on these engines. I had this battle with my step father (20 + yrs in the small engine business) He won lol. He tore one apart just to prove it to me. Just a freindly warning!

Hey that's no fair your dad is in the small engine business. You should have him hook us all up with 23hp v-twin briggs & stratton engine. I'd nominate you king of CAH. :D

He just started his own businees and I can get the engines cheaper from smallenginewarehouse.com cheaper than he can get them and I can drive there in 30 mins!

Cartaholics.com is a GREAT site for golf cart information and doing v-twin conversions to a golf cart!!! I have lots of reading to do.

They got a lot of cool stuff. This guy builds engines for the 600 cc racing series. He mostly sells complete engines, but will do parts only.
