Club Car Posi Traction Rear End

I have a 96 Club CarDS and all is good. I use it on the farm only, no highway or paved roads. I believe the rear end traction is limited slip, is this correct?

Next question, can the rear end be made a posi traction with both wheels turning together, I understand the issues with that, just curious if it can be done. With it being fall things are pretty wet and greasy, so that posi would really help me.

The stock Club Car DS has a open rear end. Buggies Unlimited sells a limited slip kit that may be what you need.

what does the term "open" mean. Guess here, the wheel with the LEAST amount of traction will turn?

you posted link (thank you) is for a Kowaski axle, how do I determine if I have that axle?

Yes, with a open rear end the tire with the least amount of traction will be the drive.

I'm not sure how to tell if you have a Kawasaki rear end. If you call Buggies Unlimited they should be able to tell you. Or maybe someone here knows how to tell. Anyone?

I'll give buggies a call.

On another note I know that in jeeps and off road trucks they weld the spider gears together to give a posi axle. Does the club axle have a gear set up that could be welded to get a posi, just looking for the cheapest way to get this done

On the question of the kawasaki rearend mine says it right on it. About the welding I have found many forums and threads of guys that have done it. I took mine apart when I did my 4 wheel drive conversion and yes it can be done but do a good job where it wont let go or you will scrap your axle.

I wouldn't weld a Kawasaki!!! I wouldn't run very tall tires or any kind of power to one either...
They are VERY prone to axle breakage. They break at the wheel hub so the wheel falls off.
This ain't my :twocents: . It's fact... :hattip:

even on jeeps when they weld it the gears in not a posi its now a spull... posi unit has a clutch pacs to in turns one wheel will spin faster than the other.....

what ever you weld the gears in the it becomes a pain in the a$$ to push and turn on dirt mub or street

Yes it would be a full spool. I guess my wheels should have fallen off 4 or 5 times now. Also it turns just fine on dirt. Even on the street you can hardly tell. It is the same as my Polaris quad 330 boss with a straight axle where both wheels drive

If the rear end is not a Kawasaki what would it be? I do not have a lift and tires are standard size bar tires, so I'm OK with welding and spooling it
