Club Car No Go!!

My 2000 CC Carryall 48V is acting up. When you step on the go pedal, it moves forward maybe 2 inches or so and that's it...could this be the controller? Batts are fine (2 years old Trojans and very well maintained & charged) The blue wire was hanging by a thread at the f/r switch but I fixed that and checked all other connections. Tested the solenoid and it was OK...I'm at a loss...I'm about to put in a PlumQuik motor in this and don't want to throw in good money after bad..

put a Volt meter on the batteries & check the voltage
then try to drive with the meter still hooked up & see if
you get a voltage drop.
does this cart have the I/Q system ?

I'm borrowing a friends' meter today & I'll check those voltages...meanwhile, which microswitches are you referring to...the ones that are on the F/R switch? Thanks, Doc

OK, took the meter to the batteries and I got between 8.3 to 8.4 on each of them. They're only 2 1/2 years old so I know they're OK. Put the meter from the main POS to the main NEG and got 50.2 volts. Then I het the acc.pedal and nothing changed at all-and of course the cart didn't move. What's the chance that this is the controller? Oh yea, the resistor on top of the solenoid gets REALLY hot when you keep the accel. pedal down. The cart is a 2000 Carryall 48V, no mods and pretty easy use (my mom is the primary user of this to drive the neighborhood) Any thought on what to do next?
Thanks, Doc

sorry I was napping, on the passenger side of the
v-glide there is a micro under the cover, you should
be able to hear it click if you listen closely.
