I have a 99 gas Club Car Carryall. Started having what I thought were solenoid issues and ordered a new solenoid. The Club Car OEM solenoid is not marked as to what terminal is for ignition and which terminal is for the starter. The new solenoid (not OEM) is marked S and I on the small terminals. Does it make a difference which wire goes to each of the small terminals. Am I correct in assuming since the solenoid is in a plastic box and not grounded, that one of the small terminals is 12v and one is the ground. When I ordered the new solenoid it was represented as a Club Car part.

Just hook the wires to the new solenoid to the same terminals as the old solenoid and it will be fine.

The small terminals are just connections to a coil. It should not matter which way the wires go unless a diode is connected across them.
