A friend is looking to correct the engine rotation on his Club Car with a Briggs Vanguard V-Twin conversion. I have recomended a shaft that mounts on the flywheel side of the Briggs and Stratton Vanguard. Do you guys think this will work ok?

Only things I'd worry about would be shearing off the 2 bolts that will hold the shaft and is the mounting point going to be strong enough to take the torque and weight of the clutch?
Possible overheating due to the clutch blocking the air flow. Any idea on how much space there will be between the clutch and the shroud?

Definitely sounds like it may work though. Keep us posted on this.

A comet 94c will leave about 1/4 inch clearence between clutch backing plate and fan shroud. I just don't think this will be enough. I know the engine will not be at full rev on a cart very long, but it could overheat very quick. I just hate to see someone ruin a good engine this way.

With the clutch on there , it still has plenty of air flow. I have passed this idea by my step dad(small engine mechanic for 35+ yrs!}
