I recently bought a used 1700 Club Car, love the buggy, seems to have all needed hardware for driving on the road, but have had no luck getting title and tags in Virginia. I havet seen and talked to a few tagless buggy owners who claim tags are not needed. I was able to insure it. Any help would be appreciated, thanks. BTW I would be driving it in a area of Virginia Beach where I see them all the time.

Have you found out any more info about getting on the road in Virginia? I live in the Pacific Northwest and one of the obstacles here is that our new to us Carryall 1700 D. (is this what you have?) has tires marked for off-road use only.

No luck on my end, I do have A 1700 D, I love it, except that it is a little, well maybe a lot louder than an electric cart, but I have no easy way to charge one, so it is what it is. I did find a speedometer Amazon.com that fits into that little hole in the middle of the dash like it was made for it. Mine is a sunbelt cast off. I plan to remove the skid plate (I only drive on public roads) and install construction grade foam panel to the frame to try and quiet it down a bit, at least pedestrians can hear me coming.

If the tires were my only problem I would either buff or cut that writing off, here basically DMV wants Club Car to state it is made for road use and Club Car has been adamant that it is not.
