Club Car Caroche Motor

1974 Caroche. Poor condition. My cart has a box mounted on the drivers side, under, near the motor with two cables that were connected to motor. It also has two wires handing down that are cut off. Is this a back up unit with beeper or ?. I removed all wires, bench tested and the motor spun. reconnected all wires and pushed pedal and got sparks. re bench tested motor and now it is welding. Any ideas from any one are welcome.

Cheers. I have all the diagrams. I think I shorted the thing by allowing the negative cable on #1 solenoid to come in contact[ with the accelerator contact post. I am thinking I have fried the motor. Also, none of the diagrams show the metal enclosed box with the two cables coming out that attach to S1 and S1 laid on top of what is show in diagrams. There is also the chance that miswiring those cables may have destroyed motor.

Made the call, cut the cord, it's a suicide mission, an attempt to rehabilitate a 1974 caroche "barn find". I have read enough threads where people drop thousands and their cart never goes. Hold my beer...

So far so good, but so many hours. Recently got motor back from shop. Painting is going well. One tire wont hold air. I have wiring diagrams and they are pretty clear but I still have questions. Are there any 1974 experts out there willing to guide me step by step?

In the home stretch now. After days of struggling I have forward but no reverse, solenoids click away but no reverse. So I'll ask once again any help out there? I included a picture of the brakes...is this put together correctly? Thanks!

No brakes...hopefully they just need bled. Good news is she does 13.9 mph! Only had to do one Flintstone stop. On low tires so she stops by herself if you give he enough room. The wood dashboard is from a free sample of wood flooring at Lowes. Fun to drive. Worth the work.
