i have 94 Club Car 36v golf cart. If I measure the pack with meter and it reads 36.6 volts. I just bought it so i am guessing the batteries are not any good. Anyway, when i plug the Lester battery charger in I hear the click as it starts but the amp meter on it reads zero. Is this the correct reading?

It sounds like the charger is working. You may have a bad connection on the chargers amp meter, or the meter may be bad. Let us know if the charge cycle completes like it should.

the connection to the meter is good. i know this because i had to replace the fuse. it was like that when i got it. maybe when the fuse blew, it ruined the meter?

That's fine. Let it charge and the charger should shut off on its own. If it doesn't shut off after after fully charged or 16 hours then there's a problem with the charger.

How long did you let the charger run? Bad batteries can cause the charger to stay on but you also have a problem with the charger if the amp meter isn't working. It's hard to say what condition the batteries are in if the charger isn't working properly. The Lester website has manuals and troubleshooting guides. I'd take a look there and see if you can find any info on your charger. If not you can call them and they can help you out. Sorry I can't help you more with this but I don't want to tell you to run out and buy new batteries if you don't need them.
Anyone else have any ideas?
