Cleaning engine and surrounding areas?

Yes I did spend some time searching!
Kinda like the best help DIY ers site on the web but only if you own a Buick Reatta!
A division of aaca.org-Buick Motor Club, Reatta Division. Search ain't too good!
I want to clean the engine and engine compartment-wondering if I can cover a few? things and Gunk/wash or?
The 2 06 cars are quite dirty.
 
I pressure wash them all the time with no problem. After your done let them sit in the sun with the seat off for a couple hours.
